Poem Untitled

Words

Words words

Upon the page

Lines and more lines

That I decided to write

As I engage with this poem here

No need to define

But instead reprise more

With various poetic thoughts

That have just randomly appeared

For I have no need to

Explain yet remain

Unequivocally me

And so it is, and free to be

Whatever I deem

For it may seem

To be scattered about

For with a poetic heart

I am not without

Perfection put away

As the interpretation is always open

After being read and took place

As a spark of meaning both

Inside and outside the head and mind

As I took the time

Just because

To write the now

And the what was

To think of what lies ahead

And also what won’t be

As I categorically

Declare that this poem

Correlates and shapes

That which poetically plagues

Every fiber of me

Running free and based inexplicably

At the cellular level, and creative prowess

Words

Words words

Upon this page

And lined up by

A poet on the rage

Freeverse and not formal

As this poem

Was meant to be this way

And how restful

To just write and be in the moment

Of a poem untitled

PM

  1. You know the truth is, sometimes the words just need an outlet. Sometimes they have direction and sometimes they don’t, especially in the beginning years of dedicated writing or journaling.

People take away from our writing what they take away. Sometimes they identify with someone simply needing to rant. At other times, they are inspired by a twist of phrase or just a word or two that you threw out there, not really realizing anything at all might come of it. And so we write. 🙏
