Sitting around
in deep thought,
and thinking about life—
that which was wrong,
and what went right,
as I ponder and wonder about
a cocoon of thoughts and memories—
that so heavily stick to me,
in the wee hours of the night,
and the sunlit hours of day,
just beckons to stay in place,
even when it doesn’t match,
the look upon my face,
while being the private investigator,
of my own case—
and attempting to settle
and slow my brain down,
but it decides to race,
and expects me to keep pace—
even during my sleep—
restless nights spent; and odd dreams,
that tend to trace a dotted line—
of what may or may not have defined,
the likes of me throughout time,
with moments on bended knee,
seeking the Divine—
there in the silence and quietness,
of secret moments with myself,
but reminding myself—
all along; to continue to fight,
no matter the reflection,
or a slight miscalculation,
yet headed in a direction of,
drowning in a sea of forgetfulness,
while tuning into the frequency,
that would tailor my very best—
and at the behest; of my own voice,
satisfactory success,
and to be nothing less,
through my free will choice—
on such a high but also,
while visiting and entertaining,
an uncertain course at times—
felt from a lost and lower height—
as thoughts cross my mind often,
In pale and dim light.
