I am never alone

For wherever I go

My shadow follows

And has done so consistently

Throughout my life

No matter the place

No matter the situation

No matter who I was around or not

A duality of sorts

As I report this now

Yet somehow time made no difference

In what my shadow would do

Or bend to the light or dark circumstances

There for a reason and purpose

I suppose

Moving along with me and then froze

Right in place and having to faceoff

With it and myself

In any case and as to which

Neither of us

Could ever be replaced

A dynamic duo if you will

That mimics everything I do

Under the right conditions

Seeming whole and never hollow

And where I go it follows

Nor will ever fall behind 

And usually set side by side

As another version of me

Right there live and outside

With no need to hide 

Expand or grow

For through my life and existence

I will continue to be

Accompanied by shadow
